Other support

The support of family and friends can be very valuable when you are trying to handle infertility. However, if you know others who have also experienced fertility treatment, try not to compare yourself with them. Each person will go through a slightly different treatment program and, in addition, will deal with the experience in different ways.

Information and support services are also available in the community if you want to make use of them. ACCESS is an important support organisation, run by infertility patients for infertility patients. ACCESS provides helpful information about infertility via a newsletter. In addition to providing guidance and support for couples experiencing infertility, ACCESS is an important mouthpiece for infertility patients and represents your views, as infertility patients, to both State and Federal governments. We encourage you to join this support group and staff can supply you with application forms. Other support services may also be appropriate depending on your particular fertility problem and these are included below.
