Dr Kishani Kannangara


Dr Kishani Kannangara is a Sydney-based endocrinologist who also provides specialist services to rural areas of New South Wales.

She completed her medical degree at the University of Sydney and worked as an intern and resident at Gosford Hospital on the Central Coast before completing her Basic Physicians training at Concord Hospital. Advanced Endocrine training was completed at Prince of Wales and Nepean Hospital in Randwick and Penrith before undertaking an Andrology Fellowship at Prince Henry’s Institute and Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne in 2010.

Dr Kannangara was admitted to the Royal Australian College of Physicians as a Consultant Endocrinologist in 2011.

Dr Kannangara has experience in the investigation and treatment of the many endocrine disorders that may affect reproductive function, fertility and pregnancy outcome. These include, thyroid and pituitary disorders, diabetes, gestational diabetes and thyroid dysfunction in pregnancy.  She has particular interest, and knowledge in investigating male infertility and in the diagnosis and treatment of androgen deficiency in men.

As part of the Westmead Fertility Centre team, Dr Kannangara provides fertility preservation consultation and treatment for male and female patients, both adult and paediatric undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Dr Kannangara is a Visiting Medical Practitioner at Westmead Hospital and a Visiting Medical Officer in Andrology at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead. She also has rooms at RPAH Medical Centre in Newtown, Woolcock Institute of Medical Research and Specialist rooms in Dubbo NSW.
